DHS Class of 1964 $2,000 Scholarship

Criteria for the Dalton Education Foundation

Application Deadline: April 7, 2015

The Dalton High School Class of 1964 will award a $2,000 college scholarship to one Dalton High School student in the Class of 2015. The Class is looking for a student who is well-rounded, participates is school and community activities and has the capacity for leadership.

To quote the 1964 Catamount annual: “High school days write an important chapter in the book of life. To be a best seller, a book needs a lively spirit, an undying spirit from beginning to end.” The candidate should exhibit such spirit during his/her high school career. The Spirit of ‘64 includes the spirits of cheerful service, pride in hard work, love of learning, fellowship and dedication.

The criteria for choosing a recipient are the following:

  • Set goal of continuing his/her education

  • Achieved a good academic record in high school

  • Participated in a variety of high school and community activities

Applicants need to answers the following questions:

(Please use complete sentences.)

  • Why do you want to continue your education?

  • Share a lesson learned during your high school career.

  • What has been your greatest challenge in life?How would you encourage others facing life’s challenges?

  • What is your proudest accomplishment?Why?

  • Is there other information about yourself you would like us to know?

The scholarship will be presented at Dalton High’s Honors Night.

Completed application should be turned in to Mrs. Tina Scibilia in the Counseling Office by Tuesday, April 7, 2015.
